About

Sciorta was born out of my small (ok, major) obsession with the A line skirt. See, I just love them. I love the way they hang, skim my hippy bits and keep you breezy on a hot summer’s day. I love how I can wear them with flip flops in the summer and boots in the winter – and let’s face it, wellies when it’s raining. I love how I can climb a tree with my kids, have a game of frisbee, then have a semi-civilised picnic in a fancy garden – all in a skirt. I used to think that skirts were just for posh lunches (something I don’t do nearly enough of). But then I realised that if I didn’t wear my lovely skirts for just the ordinary stuff, when actually was I going to wear them. My life is made up of the ordinary stuff.

Our sciorta are all lined (yay) – don’t get me started on unlined skirts. I could rant for hours.

So, there you go. I am Janet, I am a very happy skirt maker, and I love A-line skirts. Maybe there should be a support group just for me? Oh and sciorta is the Irish word for skirt. Er, because we live in Ireland.

Come join my love of skirts, show me pictures of your favourite ones, let me know where your sciorta takes you!
